How do you write Summer in bubble letters?
- Mark six slots. SUMMER has two wide M's in the middle, so the word bulges there. Give each M about one and a half times the width of the S, U, E or R.
- Overlap the double M. Tuck the second M behind the first, so the right edge of the first M sits over the left of the second. Keep both the same size and hump height.
- Make the S fat. The S starts the word and sets the style. Draw a big round S with ends that curl in, so it looks like a full shape, not a thin snake.
- Round the bottom of the U. The U should be a deep, even curve with thick sides, the same height as the M's.
- Finish with the R. End with a round bowl on the R and a short, fat leg kicking out. The leg is a good place to start a drip or a wave.

Colors and decorations for Summer
Bright colors fit: yellow, orange, hot pink, turquoise and lime. A rainbow with one color per letter looks like beach toys, and a yellow to orange fade looks like the sun. Draw a sun over the S, sunglasses on the U, a wave along the bottom, palm leaves at the sides or a slice of watermelon in a corner.
Summer in graffiti letters
The graffiti image uses the Drip style: brush letters with paint running down. On SUMMER, drips can look like melting ice cream or water, so try light blue or pink drips. Keep them under the M's and E, where the letter bottoms are wide. The styles page shows drip next to other graffiti styles.
